The VELUX logotype is the most important element in our visual identity. It is a distinctive visual element that helps express the values of our company and promotes product recognition and brand loyalty.

When the VELUX logotype is used properly, our trademark provides us with indefinite legal protection. But if misused, the trademark can become generic and lose its legal protection.

To ensure the VELUX trademark remains ours exclusively, only use the VELUX logo from an original logo file for reproduction and use it only in its correct and registered form.

  • Clear space

    With the VELUX logotype, we follow a basic principle of clear space: the minimum amount of clear space around the logotype should be proportionate to its height.

    This principle also applies to the logotype when it is set against a photographic background. The logotype should never be placed alongside distracting elements in a photograph or a layout (see section Special applications).

    The VELUX logo should not stand alone. All layouts should mention a product range or feature our signature: “Bringing light to life”. There are of course exceptions to this rule, so please consult our brand helpdesk if you have any questions.

  • Placement

    The main VELUX logotype can appear in printed materials in four different positions, as shown on the right.

    Positions 1 and 2 are the standard positions. You should use these unless this manual or a template specifies otherwise.

    When the logotype appears in a range of related applications that might be seen together, please take a consistent approach to size, positioning and use of colour.

    Position 4

    Position 4 is intended for use in online applications and posters.
    Position 1

    Position 1 is intended for use in ads, and in sales literature, such as folders, brochures and posters.
     
    Position 3

    Position 3 is intended for use on the back page of a folder or brochure.
    Position 2

    Position 2 is intended for use in advertisements and posters.

  • Special applications

Logotype with descriptor

For markets with low awareness, a logo with a descriptor links our brand to our core products. The descriptor can be, for example, roof windows, skylights or velux.com. This descriptor helps create awareness of our brand in the specific market.

All logos with descriptors must be approved by the Brand HelpDesk before use.

  • Positioning

    Unlike the main logotype, the logotype with descriptor cannot be positioned in the top left or bottom left corners. These positions are reserved for the main logotype and allow you to establish the product class elsewhere in the application.

Logo for internal events, tools and departments and campaign identifiers

For all VELUX identifiers and internal logos, the font must be VELUX Gothic and the colours must come from the VELUX Brand Identity Guide.

All logos must be approved by the Brand HelpDesk before use.

VELUX Events/initiatives

If graphics are necessary, ensure that they are placed in an area that is the same size as the logo. As always, the minimum amount of clear space around the logotype should be equal to its height.

We aim to coordinate all printed material through a visual standard with minimal variation, so this page lists the preferred sizes of the VELUX logotype.

The standard formats for VELUX printed materials are A4 portrait, A5 portrait and A65 portrait. You can use other formats in markets where A-formats are not standard, or as required in special applications.

When the VELUX logotype appears in a range of related applications that might be seen together, please take a consistent approach to size, positioning and use of colour. If you need to use the logotype in a width smaller than 24 mm (1.5 inches), please contact Brand Helpdesk on Yammer for more help.
