Brochures

We use brochures when we have a deeper story, one that's best told by separating individual messages into a logical sequence that runs through multiple pages.

Use visuals whenever possible. The visuals should clearly support the messages to aid understanding.

  • Placement of logo

The main VELUX logotype can appear on brochures in two different positions, as shown below. By limiting the placement of the logotype, we minimise variation and ensure a coordinated, uniform appearance for all printed materials from the VELUX Group.

Please find the logo in We Share for all formats and products We Share/Components/Logo/VELUX

See how to use the logo with a descriptor

Position 1 is intended for use on ads and in sales literature such as folders, brochures and posters.

Position 3 is intended for use on the back page of a folder or brochure.

  • Product ranges

We lead the global market in roof windows, but when a brand is this successful, there is a risk of brand degeneration. If that were to happen to our brand, VELUX would become an everyday word for roof windows made by any company.

Find all the product ranges here

Always combine VELUX with the name of a product range. So, instead of letting VELUX stand alone, write VELUX roof windows or VELUX accessories.

    Front cover

When you place text on the front cover of a VELUX brochure, always ensure that the product range is in the headline.

Our signature, Bringing light to life, is recommended to be placed at the bottom, as shown in the examples on the right. In general, our logo should appear in the brochure’s upper right-hand corner.

    More information
The signature is not mandatory, but we recommend you use it as much as possible. Please see section Signature for more details.

    Spreads

    Right page (top):
    VELUX + product range
    Font size: 12 pt

    Left page (bottom):
    Page number and section name

    Right page (bottom):
    Page number

The product range is in the top right corner of the right-hand page. For texts of varying lengths, simply adjust the line and the text to the left – but keep an extra space on the right and left.

    Spreads – incorrect use

Don’t place product range in any other place than top right.

    Back

On the back page of all VELUX brochures, you can choose to place either our product range text or our corporate text next to the VELUX logo.

The back of our brochures should be kept simple and consistent, so the same basic information should always appear: the VELUX logo, signature, company address, and the product range text or corporate text. No other images, texts, or special offers should appear.

    More information
You can find our corporate text at weshare.velux.com
    Search: VELUX Guidelines
Please check Boilerplate for the guidelines on how to use the corporate text.

    Back – colours

The back page of a VELUX brochure should be in a single colour. You can choose between any of the corporate colours for this page: white, VELUX Blue, VELUX Red or VELUX Light, Medium or Dark Grey.

    Back – Expanded Red

    Back – incorrect use

Only product range or corporate text next to logo

Place company information top left corner

Do not use logo with descriptor on back of brochures

    Don’t forget the signature

  • Brochure formats
We want all our printed materials to have the same high quality look. So whether your layout is an A4, A5 or A65 portrait, we would like you to use the VELUX standard format.
For other applications, we recommend you choose from the range of A-formats. However, in markets where the A-format is not standard, or if your application requires a special treatment, you can use another format.

A5 format is only for corporate literature

Do not use landscape format for standard literature

    Paper quality

We have selected a range of paper that you should use for all the printed materials you produce for the VELUX Group.

These paper qualities have been chosen based on various criteria such as opacity, whiteness, ease of coating and folding, runability and availability.

We paid particular attention to ease of folding because it often plays a key role in helping our latest marketing materials and literature stand out from the crowd.

As of 17 June 2009, our stationery is printed on Orig Gmund Vergé 90 g – 01 Blanc (Papyrus).

  • Signature

The VELUX signature is a unique way to convey our brand promise: “Bringing light to life”. It is handwritten to express the caring, emotional side of our brand.

The English version of the signature is the master version and can be used both internationally and locally. All authorised language versions can be downloaded from weshare.velux.com. Search: components/illustrations/signature

Find general rules on signature here

The signature is available in a large format (above 150 mm) and a small format. Only authorised versions of the VELUX signature may be used. Do not use this font in any other VELUX applications.

Although it is not mandatory, you can use the VELUX signature on any of your materials. In fact, we recommend you use it as often as possible. It reminds our customers of our promise: to bring them daylight and fresh air.

    Position on front

On the front of a brochure

Right margin = X (VELUX logo height)
    Left margin = X + 3X (the same size as the logo ) + X

    Position on back
